Furore Panoramic Terrace (Belvedere di Furore)
Perched on the SS163 just above the fjord bridge, the small belvedere at Furore delivers one of the most jaw-dropping coastal panoramas in Campania — a sweeping arc of turquoise sea, vertical limestone cliffs and the terracotta rooftops of Praiano in the distance. Sunrise here turns the whole scene amber.
What You See
From the low stone wall of the belvedere you look west toward Praiano and east toward Amalfi, with the full drama of the fjord cut directly below your feet. On clear mornings the island of Capri is visible on the horizon, roughly 25 km away.
The terrace is small — room for perhaps 20 people — so it rewards early risers. Tour buses stop here briefly on the Amalfi–Positano run, but they rarely linger past 9 am, leaving the view to independent travellers.
Best Times to Visit
Golden hour before sunset is spectacular: the west-facing cliffs glow orange and the sea turns deep indigo. Photographers favour the 30-minute window just after the sun drops behind the Lattari ridge.
In winter the belvedere is almost deserted and the light is exceptionally clear. The SITA Sud bus still runs year-round, making this an easy half-day trip even in November.
