Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Yeppa handles personal data when you use the platform. Yeppa is a comparison platform: you book and pay directly with the provider, not with us. We therefore don't process bookings or payments ourselves. We process data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we process and why

• Location — when you choose a destination or share your location, we store this in a cookie (yb_geo / yb_city) to show relevant travel options near you. Legal basis: your consent.
• Searches — search terms you enter are recorded anonymously to improve search suggestions. This data cannot be traced back to you. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
• AI search — when you ask a question via AI search, that question is processed and the answer temporarily stored to answer repeat questions faster. Don't enter any personal data here. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
• Newsletter — if you subscribe, we use your email address to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time. Legal basis: your consent.
• Account — if you have an account, we process your name and email address to give you access to saved providers and deals. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
• Usage statistics — we measure how the platform is used (with an anonymized IP address) to improve it. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Cookies

We use functional cookies (such as your location choice) and, with your consent, analytical and marketing cookies. You manage your preferences via the cookie notice on the site. Functional cookies are needed for the platform to work; we only place the others after your consent.

Sharing with third parties

We only share data where it's necessary for the operation of the platform, with:

• Analytics services (such as Google Analytics) for usage statistics;
• Affiliate networks and partner providers when you click through to a provider, to measure that referral;
• Our AI service provider for answering AI search questions.

We never sell your data to third parties.

Retention periods

We don't keep data longer than necessary for the purposes mentioned above or than is legally required. We may keep anonymized search and usage data longer because it cannot be traced back to you.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, and to object to or request restriction of the processing. Send your request to info@yeppa.com. We'll respond within the legal time frame. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorized access.
