Agriturismo Serafino
Clinging to the terraced hillside above the fjord, Agriturismo Serafino is a working farm and rustic restaurant where the lemons, tomatoes, courgettes and wine on your table were grown within metres of where you sit. The cooking is unapologetically local — think hand-rolled scialatielli pasta with clams and the region's own Furore DOC white wine poured straight from the barrel.
What to Eat
The menu changes with the season but almost always features scialatielli ai frutti di mare — the short, hand-cut pasta native to the Amalfi Coast, tossed with mussels, clams and cherry tomatoes from the farm's own plot. In spring, look for the pezzogna (red sea bream) baked in a crust of Amalfi lemon zest and local herbs.
Dessert is typically a thick slice of torta di limone or a glass of house-made limoncello, both made with the farm's own sfusato amalfitano lemons, the elongated, intensely perfumed variety that grows only on these terraces.
The Setting
Tables are set on a vine-shaded terrace overlooking the lemon groves and, on clear days, a sliver of blue sea far below. The atmosphere is unhurried — this is not a tourist-trap trattoria but a family farm that happens to feed guests.
Reservations are strongly recommended in July and August; the restaurant seats fewer than 40 covers. Lunch is the main meal; dinner is sometimes available but call ahead.
