Plage de Juan-les-Pins
Stretching for nearly two kilometres between the casino and the Cap d'Antibes pine forest, Juan-les-Pins' sandy beach is one of the few genuinely sandy shores on the Côte d'Azur — no pebbles, just warm golden sand lapped by turquoise water.
The beach scene
The long arc of sand is divided between free public sections and a string of private plages — Pam Pam, Helios and Eden Beach among the most popular — where you can rent a sunbed, order a rosé and feel the full Jazz Age glamour that put Juan-les-Pins on the map in the 1920s.
Early mornings before 9 am are magical: the water is glassy, the light is golden and you can swim out to the buoys in almost total quiet before the parasols go up and the DJ sets begin.
Water sports & the pine backdrop
The sheltered bay makes conditions ideal for paddleboarding, kayaking and pedalo hire, all available from kiosks near the public beach. The water stays warm enough to swim comfortably from late May through October.
Behind the beach, a fragrant canopy of umbrella pines gives the resort its name and provides natural shade for the promenade — a detail that makes strolling here far more pleasant than on the exposed seafronts of Cannes or Nice.
