Jazz à Juan Festival
Every July since 1960, the pine-shaded Pinède Gould amphitheatre in Juan-les-Pins has hosted Jazz à Juan, one of the world's oldest and most atmospheric jazz festivals — the stage where Ray Charles, Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald once played.
The festival atmosphere
The open-air venue seats around 4,000 people beneath a canopy of maritime pines, with the Mediterranean visible just beyond the stage — a setting that no indoor arena can replicate. The line-up mixes jazz legends with contemporary artists across soul, blues and world music.
Tickets for headline evening concerts sell out weeks in advance, but the festival also programmes free afternoon 'Jazz Off' concerts in the streets and squares of Juan-les-Pins and Antibes, so even budget travellers can soak up the vibe.
Planning your visit
The festival typically runs for ten days in mid-July. Book headline tickets through the official Antibes Juan-les-Pins tourism office website as soon as the programme drops, usually in April. Seated and standing options are available.
Arrive early to claim a spot on the grass at the edges of the Pinède Gould, bring a light layer for the sea breeze after dark, and explore the pop-up food stalls serving socca, pissaladière and chilled Provençal wine before the show.
