Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Fuenlabrada (MAC)

A small permanent nucleus traces the evolution of Spanish abstraction from the 1970s onward, with works on paper and sculpture that reward slow looking. The lighting is gallery-quality and the space never feels crowded, so you can stand in front of a canvas as long as you like.

The museum sits a short walk from Fuenlabrada's main bus interchange, making it easy to combine with a morning at the nearby market. Pick up a free programme at the entrance — it lists curator-led tours that run on the first Saturday of each month.
Admission is free for residents and very affordable for visitors, so there is no reason to rush. The small bookshop stocks limited-edition prints by exhibiting artists at prices that will not break the bank.
