Mirador de Lastres

Perched above the terracotta rooftops of one of Asturias's most photogenic fishing villages, this clifftop viewpoint delivers a panorama that stops every visitor dead in their tracks. The Cantabrian Sea stretches to the horizon while colourful boats bob in the harbour far below.

The View That Earns Its Reputation

The mirador sits at the top of Lastres's steep, winding lanes and rewards the climb with an unobstructed sweep across the entire bay of Lastres, the green Asturian hillside and, on clear days, the distant silhouette of the Picos de Europa to the south.

A bronze bust of Dr. Mateo Fernández-Vega, the celebrated Asturian ophthalmologist who was born here, stands at the viewpoint — a quirky local landmark that locals will happily tell you about if you ask.

Best Time to Visit

Golden hour before sunset turns the harbour's slate roofs and whitewashed walls a deep amber, making this the single best moment to photograph the village from above.

Early morning visits in summer reward you with mist still clinging to the valley behind the village and virtually no other tourists sharing the terrace.
