Casa Eutimio Restaurant
Casa Eutimio is not just a restaurant — it is an Asturian institution that has been serving impeccably fresh seafood from the harbour below since 1939. Four generations of the same family have kept the kitchen honest, the portions generous and the dining room full of happy, unhurried locals.
What to Order
The caldereta de bogavante — a rich, saffron-tinged lobster stew built on a base of local tomatoes and white wine — is the dish that has made Casa Eutimio famous across Asturias. It is worth every euro and requires no accompaniment beyond good bread and a cold glass of Asturian sidra.
Oricios (sea urchins) are harvested locally and served raw with a squeeze of lemon when in season from November to March; their briny intensity is a flavour you will not find this fresh anywhere inland. The grilled merluza a la sidra (hake in cider sauce) is a reliable year-round choice for those who prefer something lighter.
The Setting and Experience
The dining room occupies a traditional Asturian stone house with views over the harbour, and the terrace tables in summer offer a front-row seat to the comings and goings of the fishing fleet below.
Service is warm but unhurried — this is a place that rewards lingering over a long lunch rather than rushing through courses. Booking ahead is strongly advised in July and August.
