The permanent collection spans 4,000 years of scent culture across five floors, with genuine copper alembic stills, antique perfume organs, and a Marie-Antoinette travel case that once held her personal fragrances.
Don't skip the greenhouse annex on the roof terrace, where you can rub centifolia rose leaves and jasmine petals between your fingers and immediately understand why Grasse's microclimate made it irreplaceable to perfumers worldwide.
Planning Your Visit
Book the 'nose workshop' add-on in advance — a 45-minute guided session where a trained perfumer walks you through a palette of 30 raw materials and lets you blend your own eau de cologne to take home in a sealed vial.
The museum is part of the broader Musées de Grasse network, so a single combined ticket also covers the Villa-Musée Fragonard nearby, giving excellent value for a half-day of culture.
