Mirador de Ses Barques
Perched on the Ma-10 road between Sóller and Sa Calobra, the Mirador de Ses Barques is the single most photographed panorama in the Tramuntana, where the entire Sóller valley — a patchwork of orange and lemon groves framed by grey limestone peaks — unfolds 400 metres below you. The bar-restaurant on the terrace means you can linger over a glass of local wine without moving an inch.
The View and the Light
The mirador faces roughly southwest, making it exceptional in the late afternoon when golden light rakes across the terraced hillsides and the Port de Sóller's bay glints far below. On clear days you can trace the coastline east toward the Cap de Formentor.
In spring the valley floor turns a vivid citrus green broken by white almond blossom — one of the most celebrated landscapes in all of Spain, and the reason the Serra de Tramuntana holds UNESCO World Heritage status.
Getting There and Combining with Sa Calobra
The mirador sits on one of Europe's most spectacular mountain roads; if you are driving, continue north on the Ma-10 and then descend the legendary hairpin road to Sa Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis gorge for a full-day mountain adventure.
Cyclists should note that this road is a bucket-list climb for road cyclists worldwide — if you are driving, be patient with the pelotons and pass only on straight sections.
