Mirador de Siesta — Cap Martinet Ridge
A short drive or vigorous 40-minute walk north of Santa Eulària along the coastal road brings you to the rocky Cap Martinet ridge, where an informal clifftop mirador delivers one of the most unobstructed views of the Santa Eulària bay, the marina and the distant Dalt Vila walls of Ibiza Town. Sunrise here is extraordinary.
Finding the Viewpoint
The mirador is not signposted on most tourist maps, which is exactly why it stays uncrowded. From the Passeig Marítim, follow the coastal path northward past the residential villas of Siesta urbanisation; a rough stone track leads to the ridge-top clearing where a few flat rocks serve as natural benches. The path is clear but uneven, so wear proper shoes.
The best light falls in the early morning when the sun rises behind the hills to the east and turns the bay a deep gold. Photographers particularly prize the angle that frames the marina's white masts against the dark silhouette of the old town on the far shore.
What You See From the Top
On a clear day the view sweeps from the pine-covered headland of Punta Arabí in the north all the way to the UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila citadel and the salt flats of the south. The river mouth of the Riu de Santa Eulària is visible as a green stripe cutting through the coastal plain directly below.
In late afternoon the ridge catches a cooling breeze even in August, making it a surprisingly pleasant escape from the heat of the town. Bring water and a snack — there are no facilities at the viewpoint itself.
