Even if you never touch a board, the spectacle of colourful sails arcing against a volcanic skyline is worth every minute.
Why Every Visitor Ends Up Here
Stretching roughly 600 metres along the resort's northern flank, Las Cucharas is the largest and liveliest beach in Costa Teguise, lined with a palm-shaded promenade that connects beach bars, sun-lounger rentals and watersports schools in one easy stroll.
The beach's gentle slope and reliable northeast swell make it a magnet for the windsurfing community — Lanzarote Surf School and F2 Windsurf Centre both operate here, offering lessons for complete beginners through to advanced riders.
Beyond the Waves
At the southern end, the water calms enough for snorkelling around the rocky outcrops, where parrotfish, wrasse and the occasional octopus patrol the volcanic reef just metres from shore.
Sunsets here are theatrical: the low volcanic hills of the interior turn amber while kite-surfers perform their final runs, making this one of the most photogenic early-evening spots on the island.
