Parque Amantikir
An open-air botanical garden unlike anything else in the Serra da Mantiqueira, Amantikir threads 26 themed gardens — Japanese, English, Austrian, a grass labyrinth and Brazil's largest classical maze — through 60,000 m² of Atlantic Forest. Created in 2007 by local landscape engineer Walter Vasconcelos, its very name is Tupi for 'Serra que Chora' (the Weeping Mountain), honouring the mist-drenched
A World of Gardens in One Walk
The self-guided 2 km circuit hands you a map at the gate and lets you drift at your own pace through more than 700 plant species arranged in worlds that shift from manicured English lawns to riotous bromeliads and serene Japanese water features.
The classical labyrinth — considered the largest of its kind in Brazil — rises to 2.5-metre living walls and is genuinely disorienting in the best possible way; go in a group and make it a race to the centre.
Practical Magic
The park is open every single day of the year, including Christmas and New Year's Eve, making it a reliable anchor for any itinerary regardless of season.
It is 90% wheelchair-accessible and fully pet-friendly, so no one in your group gets left behind. A café and a gift shop sit near the entrance for a post-walk coffee break.
