Morro do Elefante
At roughly 1,800 metres above sea level, Morro do Elefante is Campos do Jordão's most iconic viewpoint — a sweeping panorama over the red-roofed chalets of Vila Capivari and the forested valleys that roll toward the Mantiqueira horizon. Come late afternoon and you'll watch the sun paint the sky in deep oranges before the city lights flicker on below you.
Getting to the Top
The most atmospheric way up is the open-sided cable car (teleférico) that departs from Parque Capivari, swinging you above the treetops for a few exhilarating minutes before depositing you at the summit platform.
Drivers can also reach the top via a short road — useful if you want to linger for sunset and prefer not to time your departure around cable-car schedules.
What Awaits at the Summit
The summit has a small leisure area with bars and souvenir stalls, so you can settle in with a hot chocolate or a craft beer from Baden Baden and simply watch the light change over the valley.
The view is particularly rewarding at dusk: the city's twinkling lights spread beneath you like a circuit board, framed by dark mountain silhouettes — easily the most photographed scene in Campos do Jordão.
