Restaurante Yayo Daporta

Chef Yayo Daporta earned a Michelin star in 2009 and has held it ever since, making his intimate restaurant on Rúa Hospital one of the most exciting dining addresses in all of Galicia. The cooking is rooted in local shellfish and vegetables but never predictable.

The Food Philosophy

Daporta grew up in Cambados and his menus read like a love letter to the Ría de Arousa — expect dishes built around the same clams and barnacles you saw at the morning market, transformed by technique without losing their briny, oceanic identity.

The tasting menu changes with the seasons but a signature preparation of local oysters with a light acidic dressing has appeared in various forms for years and is not to be missed if it is on the menu.

Practical Dining Tips

The restaurant seats only around 30 covers, so reservations are essential and should be made several weeks ahead, especially in July and August during the Albariño festival season.

The wine list is a masterclass in Rías Baixas, with vertical selections of small-production Albariños you will not find in any shop. Ask the sommelier to pair by the glass for the full experience.
