The Praza de Fefiñáns is one of the finest Renaissance squares in Galicia, its three linked buildings — the pazo, the church and a fortified arch — enclosing a cobbled space that feels genuinely ancient rather than restored-for-tourists.
Arrive early on a weekday morning and you will often have the whole square to yourself, the granite glowing amber in the low Atlantic light and the sound of swallows echoing off the walls.
Wine at the Source
The pazo is home to Bodegas del Palacio de Fefiñáns, one of the oldest Albariño producers in the Rías Baixas DO. You can book a cellar tour and tasting directly with the bodega and walk away with bottles that carry a genuine sense of place.
The estate's flagship 1583 Albariño — named for the year the original manor was built — is a benchmark wine worth seeking out even if you skip the tour.
