Tucked inside a beautifully restored building on Carrer de la Creueta, Sabadell's fine-art museum holds one of Catalonia's most underrated collections of 19th- and 20th-century painting and sculpture. Local Modernista and Noucentista works share walls with pieces that would draw crowds in Barcelona — yet here you can stand in front of them alone.

The permanent collection pivots around Sabadell-born and Catalan artists, with standout canvases by Joaquim Vancells and strong holdings of Modernista decorative arts — ceramics, furniture and ironwork that reflect the city's prosperous textile-industry past.
A rotating temporary programme brings contemporary Catalan artists into dialogue with the historic collection, so there is almost always something new to discover even on a return visit.

The museum sits in the compact historic centre, a short walk from the Plaça de Sant Roc, making it easy to combine with a stroll through the old quarter and a coffee on the square afterwards.
Admission is free on the first Sunday of every month, and the staff are genuinely enthusiastic — ask them about the textile-industry portraits and they will unlock stories the labels don't tell.
