Restaurante Eirado da Leña
Housed in a beautifully restored granite building on Praza da Leña in the old town, Eirado da Leña holds a Michelin star and consistently ranks among Galicia's finest dining experiences. Chef Pablo Romero elevates local ingredients — Ría shellfish, Galician beef, seasonal greens — with precise technique and zero pretension.
What to Order
The tasting menu (around €65–75 per person at time of writing) is the most immersive way to experience the kitchen, and it changes with the seasons. Signature dishes have included a breathtaking preparation of local razor clams with seaweed emulsion and a slow-cooked Galician veal that renders the concept of 'tenderness' almost philosophical.
The à la carte menu is equally compelling for those who prefer to choose. The caldo gallego (Galician broth) here is not the humble peasant soup you might expect — it is a refined, deeply flavoured distillation of the region served with theatrical simplicity.
The Setting and the Wine List
Praza da Leña is one of the old town's quietest and most atmospheric squares, and the restaurant's terrace on warm evenings is among the most romantic dining spots in the city. The interior, with its exposed stone walls and contemporary lighting, strikes a perfect balance between historic and modern.
The wine list is a love letter to Galicia's DO Rías Baixas, with an exceptional depth of Albariño producers rarely seen outside the region. Ask the sommelier for a lesser-known single-vineyard Albariño — you will not be disappointed.
