Spiaggia di Minori
Minori's wide crescent of golden sand is one of the few genuinely swimmable beaches on the entire Amalfi Coast — flat, accessible and flanked by colourful fishing boats that still go out at dawn. It faces due south, so the sun bakes it from morning until the last pink light fades behind Monte Sant'Angelo.
A Beach That Actually Delivers
Unlike the narrow pebble strips at Positano or Amalfi town, Minori's beach is broad enough for a proper towel-and-umbrella setup, with both free public sand and a handful of stabilimenti (lidos) renting sunbeds for around €10–15 a day.
The water is clear and calm here — the bay's gentle curve shelters it from the prevailing winds — making it ideal for families and anyone who wants to actually swim rather than just look at the sea from a clifftop.
Morning Rituals and Evening Passeggiata
Arrive before 9 am and you'll share the beach with local fishermen hauling in their nets and retirees doing slow laps in the shallows — a scene unchanged for decades.
By evening the lungomare (seafront promenade) beside the beach fills with locals doing the passeggiata: gelato in hand, kids on scooters, grandparents on benches. Pull up a chair at one of the waterfront bars and order a Campari spritz as the sky turns amber.
