Lierna Lido & Pebble Beach

Lierna's public lido occupies a sheltered cove just south of the ferry dock, backed by plane trees that keep the shore cool even in August. The water here is exceptionally clear for a lake this size — you can watch the pebbles shift five metres below the surface — and the cove's orientation means it is calm and wave-free virtually all day.

Swimming & Facilities

The beach is a mix of small rounded pebbles and flat rock shelves that make entry easy for adults and children alike; the depth drops gradually, reaching about 2 metres at 15 metres from shore, ideal for confident swimmers.

A small bar-kiosk operates from June to early September selling cold drinks, gelato, and panini; sun loungers and umbrellas can be rented for around €10–15 per set per day in peak season.

Beyond the Lido

Just north of the main lido a free public access point allows you to swim from the rocks without any rental cost — popular with locals who bring their own gear and arrive early to claim a flat ledge.

The lake temperature typically reaches a swimmable 22–24 °C by mid-June and stays comfortable through September, making shoulder-season visits genuinely pleasant rather than merely brave.
