Imola's legendary circuit has hosted some of the most dramatic moments in motorsport history, from Niki Lauda's fiery 1976 crash to Ayrton Senna's fatal 1994 race. Even on a quiet Tuesday you can walk the pit lane, stand on the start-finish straight and feel the ghost of full-throttle speed.
Inside the Circuit
The track hugs the Santerno river and is unusually open to the public on non-race days — you can actually jog or cycle the 4.9 km layout when no events are scheduled, making it one of the few Formula 1 venues in the world you can explore on foot.
The Museo Checco Guerra, tucked inside the paddock complex, holds a compact but beautifully curated collection of racing motorcycles, vintage Ferraris and championship trophies that tell Imola's deep love affair with speed.
Race Weekends & Tickets
The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix typically returns the circuit to full roar each spring, with grandstand tickets selling out months in advance. Book early through the official Formula 1 site and opt for the Variante Alta section for sweeping views of the whole infield.
Outside of race season, guided paddock tours run on selected weekends and give access to the team garages and control tower — a must for any motorsport fan.
