Platja de Gandia
Gandia's main beach is one of the best-kept stretches of sand on the entire Costa Blanca Nord — wide, clean and backed by a lively promenade that hums from June to September. The water earns a Blue Flag year after year, and the gentle slope into the sea makes it ideal for families and casual swimmers alike.
The beach itself
Platja de Gandia runs for roughly eight kilometres from the river mouth at the Riu Serpis southward, giving you plenty of room to find your own patch even in peak July. The sand is fine and pale gold, and the Mediterranean here stays calm enough for paddleboards and kayaks rented from kiosks near the central paseo.
The promenade — Passeig Marítim — is lined with chiringuitos, ice-cream parlours and restaurants serving fresh pescaíto frito. Early morning is magical: locals jog the full length while the light turns the water pale turquoise before the crowds arrive.
Beyond sunbathing
A cluster of beach volleyball courts sits at the northern end, regularly used for local tournaments in summer. Cycling lanes run parallel to the promenade all the way into the town centre, so hiring a bike at the port and riding out to the beach is a genuine pleasure rather than a chore.
At dusk, the paseo transforms into an evening stroll destination — families, couples and elderly neighbours all sharing the same wide path as the temperature drops to something civilised. Grab a horchata from one of the terrace bars and watch the sky turn orange over the water.
