Fragonard Parfumeur Èze Factory & Museum
While the famous Fragonard factory in Grasse draws the biggest crowds, the brand's outpost in Èze village is a quieter, more personal introduction to the art of Riviera perfumery. Free guided tours explain how flowers from the surrounding hills — jasmine, rose, mimosa — are transformed into the complex scents bottled and sold worldwide.
The Free Factory Tour
Guides walk visitors through the history of perfume-making on the Côte d'Azur, demonstrating distillation and enfleurage techniques with genuine enthusiasm. The tour lasts about 20 minutes and ends in the boutique, where you can smell raw ingredients and try to identify the notes in finished fragrances — a surprisingly addictive game.
Even if you have no intention of buying, the tour is genuinely educational and free of charge, making it one of the best-value experiences in the village. The boutique stocks Fragonard's full range at standard retail prices.
What Makes It Special
Unlike many 'factory' experiences that are essentially glorified shops, the Èze outpost has a small but well-curated museum section displaying antique perfume organs, vintage bottles, and historical photographs of the Grasse flower harvests that supply the industry.
Pick up a small bottle of Fragonard's 'Belle de Nuit' or the Riviera-exclusive 'Soleil de Grasse' as a scent-souvenir that will transport you straight back to this clifftop village every time you open it.
