Tucked inside a handsome early-20th-century building on Via Milazzo, Cervia's covered municipal market is where locals actually shop — not a tourist performance, but a genuine daily ritual of salt-cured cheeses, glistening Adriatic fish and fat Romagna peaches. Arrive before 9 am and the stalls are at their loudest and most abundant.
What to Buy
The fish counter is the star: look for coda di rospo (monkfish), seppie (cuttlefish) and mazzancolle prawns landed that same morning at the nearby Porto Canale. Vendors will happily clean and fillet on the spot.
The deli stalls carry piadina romagnola flatbreads, squacquerone (a runny, tangy fresh cheese) and mortadella di Bologna by the thick slice. Pair them for an instant picnic to take down to the pinewood.

The market operates Monday to Saturday from around 7:30 am to 1:00 pm; Saturday draws the biggest crowd and the widest range of seasonal produce. On Tuesday and Friday mornings an open-air street market spills along Viale Roma with clothing, housewares and more local food stalls.
