Restaurant Es Port (Port d'Andratx Adjacent, Calvià Border)
Sitting at the working fishing quay of Port d'Andratx — right on Calvià's western boundary — Es Port has been serving the day's catch to fishermen and discerning visitors since the 1970s, with a terrace that hangs so close to the water you can watch the boats unload your lunch.
What to Order
The bullit de peix is non-negotiable: a two-course Mallorcan fisherman's stew where the broth-poached fish (whatever came in that morning — often grouper, scorpionfish or John Dory) arrives first as a soup with rice, then the fish itself is served with alioli and boiled potatoes. It is the island's most honest dish.
Follow with the grilled red prawns (gambas rojas) from the nearby Soller fishing grounds — simply split, grilled over charcoal and served with a wedge of lemon. Do not overthink it; do not add sauce.
The Setting and Booking Tips
The harbour terrace faces west, meaning dinner here doubles as a front-row sunset show over the mouth of the bay, where superyachts and wooden llaut fishing boats share the same glassy water.
Reservations are essential from June through September — call ahead or book via their website at least two days in advance. Lunch is slightly easier to walk into, particularly on weekdays before 1 pm.
