Cap de Cala Figuera Lighthouse
Perched on a dramatic limestone headland at the southern tip of Calvià's coastline, the Cap de Cala Figuera lighthouse delivers one of Mallorca's finest sunsets without a single souvenir stall in sight.
The View from the Edge
A narrow military road (now open to walkers and cyclists) winds 4 km from the Portals Nous junction to the whitewashed lighthouse, with the Bay of Palma glittering to the east and open Mediterranean to the south.
The headland's flat limestone shelves are perfect for sitting with a bottle of local wine as the sun drops behind the horizon — on exceptionally clear evenings you can make out the faint silhouette of Ibiza, 140 km away.
Getting There Without a Car
The lighthouse sits within a restricted military zone perimeter, but the public coastal path is freely accessible on foot or by bicycle from Portals Nous — a pleasant 40-minute flat ride along the cliff edge.
Cyclists can rent bikes in Palma Nova or Magaluf and follow the well-signed coastal path; there is no public bus to the headland itself, so two wheels or walking shoes are your best options.
