Wasserfall am Parablueweg
Just 0.6 kilometres from the village centre, the Wasserfall am Parablueweg is Bayrischzell's best-kept open secret — a lush, tumbling waterfall framed by Alpine forest that costs nothing to visit and rewards even a short detour with cool mist and the roar of mountain water.
The Walk In
The Parablueweg path is an easy, well-marked trail that meanders through verdant woodland before delivering you to the falls — making it ideal for families, or as a gentle warm-up before tackling higher terrain like the Sudelfeld or Wendelstein.
The surrounding greenery stays vivid even in high summer, fed by snowmelt from the ridges above, and the dappled light through the canopy makes this one of the most photogenic short walks in the entire Mangfallgebirge.
Nature at Its Most Sensory
Stand close enough and the spray chills the air by several degrees — a blissful contrast on a warm Bavarian afternoon. Locals treat this as a meditative spot: find a flat rock, close your eyes and let the sound of the water drown out the rest of the world.
The falls sit within easy walking distance of the Skiparadies Sudelfeld access road, so you can tick off a wild waterfall and a ski-lift ride on the same half-day outing.
