Warehouse 30 Creative Arts Precinct
On a quiet stretch of Charoen Krung Soi 30, a row of weathered WWII-era warehouses has been reborn as one of Bangkok's most atmospheric creative spaces — part gallery, part design boutique, part coffee haunt, and entirely unlike anywhere else in the city. This is the soul of the Charoen Krung Creative District.
From Wartime Storage to Creative Playground
The cluster of abandoned Second World War warehouses has been converted into a trendy arts precinct housing cutting-edge design stores, independent boutiques, concept cafés and gallery spaces — all while preserving the raw, industrial bones of the original buildings.
The precinct sits at the heart of the Bangkok Creative District, a stretch of Charoen Krung Road that also includes the Thailand Creative & Design Centre (TCDC) in the beautifully restored 1880s General Post Office building nearby.
Street Art & the Surrounding Sois
Some of Bangkok's most striking street art is concentrated in the laneways around Charoen Krung Soi 28 and the Warehouse 30 precinct — large-scale murals by internationally recognised artists cover entire building facades.
Combine a visit to the warehouses with a slow wander through the neighbouring sois: you can easily spend two to three hours exploring galleries, sipping single-origin coffee and hunting for design-forward souvenirs.
When to Visit
Weekend afternoons draw the biggest creative crowd, with pop-up markets and occasional live events spilling into the courtyard. Weekday mornings are quieter and better for photography.
The precinct is a 10-minute walk from BTS Saphan Taksin or a quick ride on the Chao Phraya Express Boat to Wat Muang Khae Pier.
