An Industrial Shell, a Cultural Soul
Visionary developer Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal transformed a sprawling warehouse complex into a buzzing gallery and cultural campus that also features a theatre, an indie cinema and cafés — a genuine surprise in the middle of a working industrial district.
The avenue is home to more than 13 art galleries showing local and international exhibitions, alongside concept stores and homegrown retail businesses. Galleries like Carbon 12, The Third Line, and Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde push the boundaries of contemporary Middle Eastern and global art.
What to Do on Your Visit
Entry to most galleries is free, and the pedestrianised layout means you can gallery-hop at your own pace without dodging traffic. Pick up a handroll at Kokoro Handroll Bar squeezed into the avenue, or grab an organic brunch at The Growhouse by One Life, which even has its own in-house farm and veggie market.
Every year, Alserkal Art Week transforms the district into an immersive playground where art enthusiasts from around the globe converge, with live installations, interactive displays and talks by renowned artists making it unmissable if your dates align.

Saturday is the liveliest day — the avenue buzzes with expat residents and curious visitors, and the traffic-free central square fills up fast. Arrive by 10am in summer to beat the heat before galleries close around 6pm.
The area regularly hosts pop-up markets and art seasons, so check Alserkal's social channels before you go to catch any special programming layered on top of the permanent galleries.
