Circuit de la Sarthe & Musée des 24 Heures

Le Mans is synonymous with one of motorsport's greatest endurance races, and the Circuit de la Sarthe lets you walk, drive and breathe that history year-round. The adjacent Musée des 24 Heures du Mans houses over 150 legendary race cars across 2,500 square metres of immersive exhibition space.

The Museum

The Musée des 24 Heures du Mans traces every decade of the race from its 1923 debut, with original Bentleys, Jaguar D-Types, Ford GT40s and Porsche 917s lined up under dramatic lighting that makes each car look ready to launch.

Interactive simulators, archival footage and a full-scale pit-lane recreation make this far more than a static display — even visitors who arrived indifferent to motorsport leave converted.

The Track Experience

Outside race weekend, the public road section of the circuit — including the legendary Dunlop Bridge and the Maison Blanche corner — is open to regular traffic, meaning you can literally drive part of the track in your hire car.

For a proper lap, book a guided track experience or time your visit with one of the club circuit days when the full 13.6 km layout is in use. Standing on the start-finish straight with the grandstands empty is quietly spine-tingling.

Race Weekend Tips

The 24 Heures du Mans takes place each June; tickets for the public enclosures sell out months in advance, so book through the ACO official site as soon as dates are announced.

Camping inside the circuit grounds is a rite of passage — the Ford Chicane campsite puts you within earshot of the engines all night long.
