Icebergs Dining Room & Bar
Perched on the southern headland directly above the famous Icebergs ocean pool, this is one of the most dramatically positioned restaurants in Australia — and the Italian-influenced food matches the view. A long lunch here, watching waves crash over the pool below while you work through house-made pasta and a cold glass of Fiano, is a quintessential Sydney experience.
The Food & Drinks
Head chef Monty Koludrovic leads a menu that is Italian in spirit but thoroughly Australian in its sourcing — expect hand-rolled pasta with local seafood, wood-roasted whole fish and a dessert trolley that arrives tableside. The crudo and antipasti are ideal for sharing at lunch before a leisurely main course.
The bar opens earlier than the restaurant and is a brilliant spot for an Aperol Spritz or a Negroni as the afternoon light turns the ocean copper. The bar snacks — arancini, fried zucchini flowers, burrata — are generous enough to constitute a light meal in themselves.
Planning Your Visit
Book well in advance for weekend lunch; tables on the window overlooking the pool and ocean are the most coveted in Sydney and go quickly. Request a window seat explicitly when booking — the difference between a window table and an interior table is significant.
If a full sit-down meal is outside your budget, the bar is walk-in friendly and the views are identical. The Icebergs pool below is open to the public for a small fee and makes a perfect pre-dinner swim.
