Bondi Markets
Every Sunday the playground of Bondi Beach Public School transforms into one of Sydney's most beloved markets, where local designers, vintage dealers and artisan food producers set up under the Norfolk Island pines just two blocks from the sand. It's the best place in the eastern suburbs to find a one-of-a-kind piece and soak up the genuine Bondi village atmosphere.
What to Expect
Around 150 stallholders fill the school grounds each Sunday, selling everything from hand-dyed linen clothing and recycled denim to handmade ceramics, natural skincare and original artwork. The vintage clothing section is particularly strong — expect pre-loved Levi's, 1970s sundresses and deadstock band tees at prices far below comparable inner-city vintage stores.
A cluster of food stalls near the entrance sells fresh juices, wood-fired sourdough, artisan cheese and specialty coffee. It's perfectly calibrated for a lazy Sunday morning: grab a coffee, browse at your own pace, then wander down to the beach.
Tips for First-Timers
Arrive between 10 am and noon for the best selection before the crowds thicken. Bring cash — many independent stallholders don't accept cards, though an ATM is available nearby on Hall Street.
The market runs rain or shine, but a sunny winter Sunday (June–August) is actually the sweet spot: the light is crisp and clear, the crowds are manageable, and you can follow up with a swim in the Icebergs pool rather than the beach.
