Balcón del Mediterráneo
Perched on the rocky headland that splits Benidorm's two great beaches, this clifftop promenade delivers the postcard panorama you came for: a forest of white skyscrapers framed by turquoise water on both sides. Sunrise or sunset, it never gets old.
The View Itself
Standing at the iron railing you can see the entire arc of Playa de Levante curving north and Playa de Poniente sweeping south — two crescents of golden sand separated by a single limestone finger of land. On a clear day the outline of Ibiza floats on the horizon, about 140 km offshore.
The small whitewashed chapel of San Jaime y Santa Ana sits right at the tip of the headland, adding a genuinely photogenic foreground to every wide-angle shot. The building dates to the 18th century and is still used for occasional services.
Getting There and Around
The balcony is reached via a short but steep staircase from Calle Mayor in the old town — look for the blue-and-white tiled street signs. The whole walk from the old town square takes under ten minutes.
A small café kiosk near the viewpoint sells fresh horchata and ice-cold Estrella Damm, so there is no reason to rush away. Benches face every direction, making it an ideal spot to linger for an hour while the light changes.
