Cerro Otto Rotating Restaurant
Cerro Otto is Bariloche's most theatrical summit experience: a cable car whisks you to 1,405 m where a slowly rotating café-restaurant serves Patagonian plates while the entire lake district revolves past your window. Adventure activities, sculpture gardens, and zip lines round out the picture.
Dining in Motion
The Confitería Giratoria — the rotating café at the summit — completes one full revolution roughly every 45 minutes, meaning your view shifts from the glittering expanse of Lago Nahuel Huapi and the city below to the raw Andean peaks behind without you leaving your seat. It is equal parts spectacle and genuine meal, with regional specialities and pastries on the menu.
The cable car ascent is itself a highlight: comfortable gondolas rise through Patagonian forest with expanding views of the city and lake below. On clear days you can see all the way to the Chilean border ridgeline.
Beyond the Café
The summit plateau at Cerro Otto hosts an aerial adventure park with zip lines, suspension bridges, and climbing challenges set among the trees — well-organised with professional guides and equipment. There is also a small sculpture museum displaying replicas of famous works, surprisingly well-presented given the altitude.
A giant swing cantilevered over the mountain edge has become one of Bariloche's most shared social-media moments; the backdrop of lake and mountains behind the rider is hard to beat. Arrive on a clear morning for the best light and shortest queues.
