Punta Cornicello at Sunset

Punta Cornicello is a small, pine-shaded headland that juts into Lake Garda just north of Bardolino's centre, separating the town's two main beaches — and it delivers one of the most effortlessly beautiful sunset views on the entire lake. When the sun drops behind Monte Baldo and the Brescia coastline, the water turns molten gold.

The Walk Out to the Point

A short, leisurely walking path winds through ancient olive groves leading to the tip of the peninsula, where a bench invites you to pause and soak in the scenery. The path is flat, shaded and takes no more than ten minutes from the town centre, making it accessible for all ages and fitness levels.

The headland is particularly renowned for its spectacular sunsets, when the sun descends behind Monte Baldo and paints the sky in deep amber and rose — colours that happen to match a glass of Chiaretto di Bardolino perfectly. Bring a bottle from the Thursday market and you have the makings of a perfect Bardolino evening.

Photography and Practical Tips

The views from the headland offer an open, unobstructed panorama across the stunning waters of Lake Garda, with the silhouette of the western shore mountains providing a dramatic backdrop. Winter visits on clear days are particularly rewarding, as the crisp air reveals even more spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding terrain.

For the best light, plan to arrive 30–40 minutes before sunset. A bench at the very tip of the point is the prime spot, but the olive grove path also offers beautiful framing opportunities through the trees as the light fades.
