Joggers Park & Chuim Village, Carter Road

Tucked between the bustle of Carter Road and the Arabian Sea, Joggers Park and the tiny fishing enclave of Chuim Village form Bandra's most unexpected escape — a pocket of greenery, sea air and old-Goa charm that most visitors walk right past on their way to the louder attractions.

Joggers Park: A Sea-Facing Green Lung

Opened in 1990 on Bandra's Carter Road seafront, Joggers Park is a manicured oasis of lush lawns, tall trees, a well-maintained running track and serene Arabian Sea views — a genuine rarity in a city where open green space is precious.

The park has seating areas, a children's play zone and landscaped gardens, and its two daily opening windows (early morning and late afternoon) mean it draws a loyal crowd of fitness enthusiasts, families and — given the neighbourhood — the occasional Bollywood celebrity out for a quiet jog.

The sea-facing benches at the park's edge offer one of Bandra's most unhurried views: the open ocean stretching west, fishing boats bobbing in the foreground, and the city's noise reduced to a distant hum.

Chuim Village: Bandra's Forgotten Hamlet

A two-minute walk from Carter Road brings you into Chuim Village, a pocket-sized East Indian and Koli fishing community that has somehow survived the relentless development pressing in on all sides — its narrow lanes, whitewashed cottages with terracotta roofs and tiny shrines feel closer to coastal Goa than to a Mumbai suburb.

The village is now also home to a small cluster of independent artists' studios, boutique cafés and design spaces that have quietly colonised the old bungalows, giving Chuim a creative, unhurried energy that makes it one of Bandra's most rewarding slow-travel discoveries.

Carter Road itself, bordering the park, is lined with casual eateries, gelato counters and coffee spots with sea-facing terraces — the ideal place to end an afternoon of wandering with a cold drink and a view.
