Arromanches 360° Circular Cinema
Step inside a cylinder of nine giant screens and let archival footage of the 1944 Normandy landings wash over you from every angle. This immersive theatre, perched on the clifftop above the famous artificial Mulberry harbour, is one of the most emotionally powerful D-Day experiences in all of Normandy.
Nine Screens, One Unforgettable Story
The 18-minute film 'Overlord' weaves together original combat footage shot by Allied cameramen with sweeping modern drone shots of the same coastline, creating a haunting then-and-now effect that no flat screen could replicate.
Because the cinema is circular and there are no seats, visitors stand at the centre and turn freely — a deliberate choice that puts you inside the story rather than in front of it.
Timing Your Visit
Screenings run roughly every half-hour throughout the day; the cinema opens at 10:00 and the last show is typically at 17:30 (check seasonal hours as they extend in summer).
Arriving just before opening avoids the mid-morning coach-tour rush. The clifftop location also gives you a free, unobstructed view of the surviving Mulberry harbour pontoons below before or after your screening.
