Every summer, Piazza Paolo Capasso in Bomerano — the same square where hikers clip on their boots for the Path of the Gods — transforms into an open-air stage for two of Campania's most convivial village festivals, proving that Agerola's appeal goes well beyond the trail.

In the first week of August, Bomerano hosts FiordilatteFIORDIFESTA, a street festival dedicated entirely to the town's most famous product. Local dairies set up stalls, cheesemakers demonstrate the overnight stretching technique, and visitors can taste fior di latte, smoked provola, aged provolone and ricotta side by side — the only occasion when every producer in the valley competes for your palate at once.
The festival doubles as a community celebration, with local food stalls selling pane biscottato, taralli and grilled meats alongside the cheese, all washed down with chilled Campanian white wine as the sun sets over the Gulf of Salerno far below.
Agerola World Music Festival
On the third weekend of July, the same piazza fills with a very different energy: the Agerola World Music Festival brings international and Italian acts to a natural amphitheatre at 630 metres above sea level, with the Lattari Mountains as a backdrop and the distant lights of the coast twinkling below.
The combination of cool mountain air, zero traffic noise and an intimate crowd of locals and in-the-know visitors makes this one of the most atmospheric small music events on the entire Amalfi Coast — and almost entirely unknown to package tourists staying on the waterfront.
How to Make the Most of It
Both events are centred on Piazza Paolo Capasso in Bomerano, the trailhead hamlet of Agerola, which sits at around 630 metres above sea level and stays noticeably cooler than the coast even in high summer — a genuine relief in August.
Arrive by SITA bus from Amalfi to avoid parking chaos, and book accommodation in Agerola itself at least two months ahead if you plan to attend either festival weekend, as the handful of B&Bs and agriturismi fill up fast.
