Where to Watch the Action
The official viewing area on the D902 near the cargo zone on the airport's northern edge gives unobstructed sightlines to runways 27L and 27R, where Air France 777s and Lufthansa A380s thunder past at eye level. Bring binoculars and a telephoto lens — the light is best in the late afternoon when aircraft bank westward into a golden sky.
The RER B elevated section between Le Bourget and Aéroport CDG 1 stations passes close enough to the apron that you can read aircraft liveries from your train seat, making even the transfer into Paris a spectacle worth a window seat.
Le Bourget Air & Space Museum Connection
Just 8 km south on the D317, the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace at Le Bourget aerodrome is the world's oldest aviation museum and houses Concorde F-BVFA, the actual Air France supersonic jet that flew Paris–New York. Combine a morning at the museum with an afternoon spotting session at CDG for a full aviation day.
The museum's outdoor tarmac display includes a Boeing 747, a Caravelle, and several Cold War-era military jets — all climbable or walk-through, making it far more hands-on than most aviation collections in Europe.
