Platja de Magaluf
Magaluf's main beach stretches for nearly a full kilometre of fine golden sand backed by the warm turquoise waters of Palma Bay — this is the beating heart of the resort and the reason most visitors come in the first place. Even at peak season the sheer length of the beach means you can always find your patch of sun.
The Beach Itself
The sand is kept raked and clean every morning, and the gentle slope into the water makes it ideal for families and casual swimmers alike. Pedalos, kayaks and jet-ski hire are all available from the beach concessions near the centre of the strip.
The western end, closest to the Punta de ses Illetes headland, is noticeably quieter and is favoured by locals who want to avoid the loudest beach bars. Walk ten minutes from the main promenade and the atmosphere changes completely.
Sunsets and Evenings
Because the beach faces roughly south-west, late-afternoon light turns the sea a spectacular shade of copper and rose — prime time to grab a sunbed and watch the sky change. Several chiringuito-style bars along the promenade serve cold Estrella Damm and fresh-squeezed orange juice right through until dusk.
After dark the promenade fills with strolling families, street performers and the first wave of nightlife-goers, giving the seafront a festive carnival energy that is uniquely Magaluf.
