Panorama Terrace, Disney's Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel
Disney's Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel underwent a full reimagining in 2021 and its rooftop-adjacent Panorama Terrace, accessible to hotel guests and restaurant diners, delivers the most complete elevated view of the entire resort: both parks, the Disney Village arc, and on a clear day the faint silhouette of Paris to the west. Sunset here, with a cocktail, is quietly spectacular.
The View and When to Go
The terrace looks directly across Lake Disney toward the park gates, giving an unobstructed sightline that includes the tip of Sleeping Beauty Castle and the silhouette of the Tower of Terror at Walt Disney Studios. On fireworks nights – typically Friday, Saturday and select evenings – the display unfolds at eye level rather than above your head, which is a genuinely different and more cinematic experience than watching from inside the park.
The best light falls between 18:30 and 20:00 in summer when the low western sun catches the castle's spires and turns the lake surface copper. In winter, the Christmas illuminations on the hotel facade and across Disney Village make the terrace equally worthwhile.
The Hotel's Marvel Art Collection
Even if you're not staying here, the hotel's interior is worth exploring: over 350 original Marvel artworks, sketches and production cels are displayed throughout the lobbies, corridors and restaurant spaces as part of a genuine curated collection, not mere decoration. The ground-floor exhibition space near the check-in desk is freely accessible to non-guests during the day.
The Manhattan Restaurant on the ground floor serves a solid New York-style brunch on weekends (book ahead) and its floor-to-ceiling windows frame the same lake view from ground level – a warm-weather alternative to the terrace if the wind is up.
