Lotte Observation Deck (Hanoi Sky)
Shoot to the 65th floor of Lotte Center Hanoi in under a minute and suddenly the entire capital unfolds beneath you in every direction. At sunset the Red River turns copper, West Lake glows indigo, and the Old Quarter looks like a miniature city — it is the single most dramatic view in Hanoi.
The View Itself
The deck delivers a full 360-degree panorama through floor-to-ceiling glass at 272 metres above street level. On a clear day you can pick out landmarks up to 30 kilometres away, from the curl of the Red River to the green disc of West Lake and the slim spire of One Pillar Pagoda.
High-powered binoculars are stationed at key windows, and interactive city maps help you identify the streets and neighbourhoods spread out below — genuinely useful for orienting yourself before exploring on foot.
Sky Walk & Sky Bar
Two glass-floor Sky Walk platforms jut out from the building, letting you peer straight down at Hanoi's traffic 272 metres below. It is terrifying in the best possible way, and the photos are spectacular.
The rooftop SkyL Bar on the same floor serves cocktails and Vietnamese coffee with unobstructed views — arrive 30 minutes before sunset, order a drink, and watch the city ignite.
When to Go
Golden hour (roughly 5–6 PM depending on season) is the sweet spot: the light is warm, the haze softens, and the transition from daylight to city-lights happens right before your eyes.
Night visits have their own magic — the neon arteries of Cau Giay and the glow of Lotte's own tower reflected in nearby lakes make for dazzling long-exposure shots.
