Pickl Burger Bar, Business Bay
Tucked inside the Bay Avenue Mall complex, Pickl has become the cult burger spot of Business Bay — a no-frills, high-flavour counter that locals rank above many of Dubai's flashier restaurant-district rivals. The signature smash burger, with its lacey caramelised crust and house-pickled jalapeños, is the kind of thing you think about on the flight home.
What to Order
The Double Smash is the menu's centrepiece: two thin patties pressed hard on a screaming-hot flat-top, stacked with American cheese, caramelised onions and Pickl's proprietary sauce on a pillowy Martin's potato roll. Add the waffle fries dusted with their spice blend — skipping them would be a genuine mistake.
The chicken sandwich deserves equal billing: a thick buttermilk-fried thigh, shatteringly crisp, tucked under a tangle of slaw and house pickles. Wash it all down with a thick milkshake in salted caramel or classic vanilla, both made with real ice cream rather than soft-serve.
Atmosphere and Practicalities
The interior is small, bright and deliberately casual — exposed brick, counter stools and a menu board that fits on a single panel. It fills up fast during the 1–2 pm lunch rush, so arriving just before noon or after 2:30 pm means you skip the queue and snag a seat without stress.
Pickl also operates a reliable delivery radius across Business Bay and Downtown via Talabat and Deliveroo, but the burger genuinely tastes better eaten in the restaurant where the patties go straight from grill to bun in under a minute.
