Baie des Fourmis Promenade
The sheltered crescent of the Baie des Fourmis — named for the dark rocks that dot the shallows like ants — offers one of the calmest and most photogenic waterfronts on the entire Riviera. The palm-lined promenade curves between the old casino and Villa Kérylos, with Cap Ferrat filling the horizon like a green velvet curtain.
The Golden Hour Walk
Late afternoon light turns the pale-sand beach and the pastel façades behind it a deep amber; photographers position themselves near the ornate Belle Époque rotunda at the western end to frame Cap Ferrat in the background.
The promenade is flat and wide, making it ideal for a leisurely post-lunch stroll or an early-morning run before the heat builds — the water is famously calm here because the bay faces south-east, sheltered from the Mistral.
Swimming and People-Watching
The beach itself is a mix of free public shingle and a handful of private plage concessions with sun-lounger hire; the water clarity is exceptional and the bay's sheltered position means it stays swimmable well into October.
Settle onto the terrace of one of the seafront cafés with a citron pressé and watch the parade of yachts nosing in from Monaco — this is effortless Riviera living at its most accessible.
