Parque Vitória Régia
Bauru's most beloved green lung draws over 800,000 visitors a year for one very good reason: a shimmering lagoon carpeted with the enormous Victoria Amazonica water lilies that give the park its name. A floating amphitheatre, shaded walking trails and free open-air concerts make it the city's true living room.
A Lagoon Like Nowhere Else
The park's centrepiece is an artificial lake fed by the Córrego das Flores stream, its surface studded with the iconic giant water lilies — the same species found in the Amazon basin — whose circular pads can reach over a metre across. Early morning is the best time to see the flowers open and the light turn the water gold.
A mini mirante (viewpoint deck) was inaugurated at the stream's spring source inside the park, giving visitors an elevated look over the native vegetation and a chance to understand how the waterway feeds the entire lagoon ecosystem below.
Events, Trails & Family Time
The floating amphitheatre hosts free concerts and cultural events throughout the year, drawing families and couples for evening shows under the open sky. Bring a picnic blanket on a weekend and you will find yourself surrounded by bauruenses doing exactly the same thing.
Shaded walking and jogging paths ring the lake, making the park equally rewarding for a brisk morning run or a slow afternoon wander. Children love feeding the ducks and spotting the wading birds that nest in the reedy margins of the lagoon.
