A Square Built to Impress
Grand 19th- and early-20th-century buildings, including the Palacio Municipal, line the plaza's perimeter, giving the space the feel of a miniature Buenos Aires without the crowds.
The centrepiece is an imposing monument to Bernardino Rivadavia, designed by sculptor Luis Rovatti and unveiled in 1946 during Argentina's centennial celebrations — a photo worth framing.

On Saturday and Sunday mornings the plaza transforms as the Feria de Artesanos sets up its stalls, selling hand-tooled leather, silver jewellery, and mate gourds to locals and curious travellers alike.
