Turó d'en Caritg Viewpoint
Climb to this pine-shaded ridge on the southern edge of Badalona's Serra de Marina hills and you earn a panorama that sweeps from the glittering Mediterranean all the way to Montjuïc and the Barcelona skyline — without a single selfie stick in your way. Sunset here turns the sea copper-gold while the city lights begin to flicker below.
The view and the hike
The ascent from the Pomar neighbourhood takes roughly 40 minutes on a well-marked trail through fragrant Mediterranean scrub — rosemary, cistus and wild thyme line the path. The final ridge opens without warning, and the sudden coastal panorama stops every first-time visitor cold.
On clear winter mornings after a tramuntana wind, you can pick out the Montserrat massif to the west and the Montnegre hills to the north, giving the view a genuine depth that flat-city lookouts can never match.
Getting there and timing
Start from Carrer de Pomar and follow the GR-92 waymarks uphill. The path is rocky in places, so trail shoes beat sandals. Carry water — there are no facilities on the ridge.
The best light for photography falls in the last hour before sunset when the low sun catches the sea between you and Barcelona. A head-torch for the descent is worth the pocket space.
