Hôtel Tikida Garden
Fifteen acres of garden in the middle of Marrakech is not a small thing. The Tikida Garden sits in Hivernage — the district the French laid out in the 1920s as a winter retreat, with wide avenues and deliberate greenery — and the hotel leans into that logic fully. Two low floors of rooms face the pools rather than the street, and the whole place operates adults-only since a 2020–21 refurbishment that also added ten swim-up rooms with direct pool access.
With 259 rooms across that spread, it rarely feels dense. Three restaurants, five pools (four outdoor, one in), a hammam, and two tennis courts round out what is essentially a self-contained compound — one that also runs a free shuttle to the Medina when you want to leave it.
💛 What travellers fall for
Regulars tend to book the swim-up rooms early — they go fast after the 2021 refurbishment introduced them. The shuttle to Djemaa el Fna runs reliably and saves the taxi negotiation. For the spa, the hammam books out by mid-morning in high season, so reserve the night before at the front desk.
How Hôtel Tikida Garden came to be
The Tikida Group was founded in 1968 by Guy Marrache and Ahmed Benabbés-Taarji, and the Hivernage property opened in 1990 as part of that portfolio. In 2011, RIU — a chain with roots in Mallorca going back to 1953 — took over operations, bringing its all-inclusive framework to the property.
The 2020–21 refurbishment was substantial enough to change the hotel's character: the adults-only designation came in at that point, as did the swim-up rooms. The four-star rating and the room count of 259 held steady through it all, as did the garden that gives the place its name.

When to go
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most workable temperatures for spending time outdoors — warm without the intensity of July and August, when afternoon highs regularly reach 36–37°C. Winters are mild but can dip to 6°C overnight, and light rain is possible between October and May.
