The Diwane sits on Rue Yougoslavie in the Hivernage-Gueliz corridor, a part of Marrakech where the streets run wide and the evenings lean toward terrace bars and international menus rather than souks. It came out of a renovation completed in early 2024, which means the rooms — spacious by the neighbourhood's standards — are in better shape than the price tag might suggest, though some of the finishes still carry the weight of earlier decades.

The hotel runs a hammam, a pool, a sauna, and a Moroccan restaurant on site, so there's a full day's worth of staying-put available if you want it. A lounge bar keeps things going into the evening, and traditional music drifts through at intervals — along with the occasional city noise.

💛 What travellers fall for

People who return tend to arrive knowing two things: bring cash for the €100 damage deposit, and book a hammam session early in the stay rather than saving it for the last morning. The pool is quietest mid-morning. Tram line 2 gets you around Hivernage without negotiating a taxi fare.

Good to know
Check-in opens at 15:00; checkout at noon. Free breakfast is included daily. The nearest bus stop is around 650 metres away at Place Abdelmoumen. Marrakech's flat layout makes cycling or walking the practical choice for most of Hivernage and Gueliz.

When to go

Spring (March to mid-June) and autumn (late September to mid-November) offer the most manageable temperatures, though spring can push toward 40°C by May. Summers are reliably dry and genuinely hot; winter nights can drop close to freezing, so the hammam earns its place on the itinerary.
