Jardine's Crescent Market

Squeeze into this narrow pedestrian lane between Yee Wo Street and Jardine's Bazaar and you'll find the real Causeway Bay — vendors selling clothes, accessories and street food at prices that make the nearby malls look ridiculous. It's chaotic, colourful and completely addictive.

Street Shopping the Old-School Way

Jardine's Crescent is a tight pedestrian street running parallel to the main shopping drag, packed with stalls and small shops selling affordable fashion, bags, shoes, phone cases and accessories. It is often overlooked by tourists fixated on the malls, but locals have been bargain-hunting here for decades.

The lane connects to Jardine's Bazaar, a slightly wider street of the same character. Together they form one of the last genuinely local shopping corridors in a district otherwise dominated by international retail chains. Prices are negotiable and the atmosphere is pure old Hong Kong.

Street Food Worth Stopping For

Woven between the clothes stalls are food vendors doing brisk business at lunch and early evening. Look for egg waffle (gai daan jai) stands — the puffy, honeycomb-shaped waffles eaten hot from the iron are a quintessential Hong Kong street snack that costs almost nothing and tastes extraordinary.

At the far end of the market strip you reach the Bowrington Road Wet Market on 21 Bowrington Road, a traditional multi-floor market with fresh fish, meat and produce on the lower floors and dai pai dong-style cooked food stalls on the second floor — the perfect lunch stop after a morning of browsing.
